This newsgroup has been in existence since the mid 1990’s and attracts a number of highly qualified tax professionals who give answers to specific tax questions for free.  The site includes a searchable archive that contains answers to most conceivable tax questions.  Since the group is moderated, inappropriate posts are eliminated. 

What makes mtm so powerful is that multiple professionals will often answer the same question.  By reading through the comments you might discover an overwhelming consensus on an issue or a bit of disagreement.  Answers that are clearly incorrect are pointed out quickly by the other contributing professionals.

Fairmark is a high quality site that focuses on tax consequences of investment decisions including retirement accounts, non-retirement accounts, stock options and more. The message board provides an opportunity to ask questions and a searchable archive.

Quidestar.org

This site contains actual PDF copies of Exempt Organization Returns (Form 990) for over 60,000 charities.  You must register to use the site, but you can review and/or print out the filed tax returns without charge.
